Where is Penzion REX and how far is the lake?

You'll find us at Černá v Pošumaví 47, right on the shore of Lake Lipno in the heart of Šumava. The water is just a few steps away.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 2:00 PM, check-out by 11:00 AM. We're happy to arrange a different time individually.

Is parking free?

Yes. The guesthouse has its own free parking right by the building.

Can I store my bike securely?

Yes, we have a bike storage room. Lake Lipno and the surrounding cycling trails start right outside the door.

Is there a restaurant on site?

Yes, we run our own restaurant with 70 seats and a summer terrace, serving Czech cuisine made from fresh ingredients (à la carte).

How do I book and which languages do you speak?

The fastest way is online via the booking form on this site, or by phone at +420 731 563 553 (reservations daily 9 AM–9 PM). We speak Czech, German, English and Dutch.

Do you charge a local tourist tax?

Yes. The municipality of Černá v Pošumaví charges a tourist tax of CZK 40 per person per night. Guests under 18 are exempt.

Can I go skiing in winter?

Yes, Lipno is a great winter destination. Lipno Ski Resort (Kramolín, ~12 km of slopes, evening skiing) is close by, and Austria's largest Hochficht (21 km of pistes) is ~30–40 min by car with no vignette. For cross-country there is Pasečná or Austrian Schöneben, and in hard frost you can skate right on the frozen Lipno lake.
